I can hardly find the words to describe my time at Cranfield. It was an amazing experience for so many reasons both professionally and personally. The knowledge development was incredible and spending time with such high level professionals was a huge benefit to me. I will be forever grateful that the Master Innholders selected me for a scholarship to allow me such an opportunity and experience.

I would like to thank everyone involved in the Master Innholder Scholarships for the amazing opportunity I was given in having been awarded a scholarship to attend the General Managers Program at Cornell University. The two weeks gave me both the best learning time of my career and personally an amazing networking experience with 33 GM’s from 21 different countries. The programme allowed me to move from being a competent operator to a very strategic General Manager, having a vision for my team and developing them through my key learnings.
Michelle Wells MIH, General Manager, Park Plaza County Hall
The opportunity to step back from your business and step into an intellectual environment does not come often – nor cheaply. This scholarship allowed me to really see the big picture. It was an important step in my personal development.

Cranfield gave me an insight into how I was perceived by those around me and how you manage those perceptions to your advantage.
Roberto Pajares, General Manager, The Ampersand Hotel, London
I was delighted to win a scholarship and it was a privilege to be given the opportunity to attend Cranfield’s Developing General Manager’s Potential course for 2 weeks. I am grateful to my employer to allow me the time off, to spend learning about myself and how my management style is perceived by others, and learning to manage that perception. At the time in my career this was exactly the development I needed as a Manager.
Oliver J Q Brown, General Manager, Flemings Hotel, London
I came away with a better understanding of myself, the industry and the business environment we work in and above all a more focused and realistic plan on how I was going to gain success through visibility and credibility

I attended the 2002 GMP at Cornell and writing this nearly seven years later, its influence on my professional and personal lives continues to be hugely felt. As an overall experience it was utterly mind-blowing and it certainly changed my life for the better. I don’t imagine there is a better course out there and I would recommend it totally.
Tim Howard FIH MI, General Manager, Judges Country House Hotel
The opportunity to attend a two week Senior Management course at Cranfield in 2000 was a great privilege, and an intense and demanding experience which exposed me to senior executives from a host of other industries. It helped me to focus on issues which helped me both professionally and personally.
David Wilkinson FIH MI, former Chief Executive, Royal Automobile Club
Successful completion of a Master Innholders Scholarship and winning a place at Cornell University allowed me the opportunity to take a step back from the day to day and be challenged in an internationally renowned learning environment. The General Managers Programme provides a great opportunity for professional growth. I came away with plenty of new ideas and innovative ways of thinking that has added significant value when implemented with my team back on property.
