A Christmas message from the Master Innholders Chair

It feels like only yesterday I had the privilege of becoming the chairman of the Master Innholders. While I have only been in the position four short months, there has been no lack of exciting opportunities (and challenges!) for both myself and the rest of the hotel industry, and I'm sure there will be plenty more as we head into 2023.

If I could summarise the year in one word, I would have to go with 'resilience', as I feel it is one that best captures our amazing industry, especially in 2022. At a time when it is far too easy to feel bombarded by negative news stories surrounding hospitality, it feels you don't have to look far to see all the amazing work the many people in our industry our people are doing in the face of these challenges.

From welcoming new Master Innholders members, to the great work from all of our GM of the Future applicants, to the success of our Lunch4Ukraine program to many MI's taking home awards at this year’s Hotel Cateys, there was still plenty to shout about.

As we head into 2023, I'm confident we will see plenty more to celebrate, including the upcoming Hotel Leadership Conference, as well as reviewing applications for both the Aspiring Leadership Diploma and Master Innholders.

Until then though, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, and look forward to all of the great work we can achieve in 2023.
