Taittinger Educational Visit - Save the Date!
The Master Innholders are delighted to announce that this year’s Taittinger educational visit to Epernay will take place on 12th and 13th July 2023. This is open to senior sommeliers, restaurant managers, assistant restaurant managers and food and beverage managers working in establishments managed by Master Innholders, St Julian Scholars and Aspiring Leaders. Whilst there is no age limit for applicants, it should be remembered that the tour is intended to provide a development opportunity for more junior managers.
The outline programme is as follows:
Wednesday 12th July
- Depart London on Eurostar circa 9am, lunch in Paris close to the station
- Arrive Reims late afternoon by TGV, check into Hotel de la Paix
- Tasting with Alexandre (Chef de Caves) followed by Dinner at Boulevard Lundy (Taittinger private residence in Reims)
Thursday 13th July
- Visit Cathedral or similar
- Visit Vineyards with Christelle (Vineyard Manager) on route to Chateau la Marquetterie (Taittinger private chateau in Epernay)
- Lunch at Marquetterie
- Depart Reims late afternoon (TGV then Eurostar for return to London)
Taittinger are very generous hosts and those who join the tour will find it both memorable and enlightening. Whilst a serious educational experience, it will also be a very pleasant experience. It is the responsibility of individual group members to make their own way to Reims on Wednesday 12th July 2023 and for the return trip the following day. Full details of the itinerary will be available for those selected to join the tour.
If you would like one of your team to participate in this trip, please complete the attached application form. This should be submitted to Wallace Vincent by email at wvincent@masterinnholders.co.uk to arrive no later than Friday 28th April 2023.
Taittinger will then review the applications and will select around ten people to join the tour. Please note that should an applicant not be a citizen of the EU, he/she may be required to obtain a visa before travelling to France if selected to join the tour.
Individuals will be required to comply with any and all Government requirements at the time of travel to and from France. Applicants must also ensure that they are in possession of adequate travel insurance cover and be in possession of a Global Health Insurance Card and/or appropriate medical insurance cover.
The group will be accompanied by two representatives from Taittinger throughout and the Executive Secretary of the Master Innholders.
