The Master Innholders appoints Alistair Sandall FIH as new executive secretary

Alistair Sandall FIH has been appointed the new executive secretary of the Master Innholders, succeeding Wallace Vincent MBA FIH, who retires after a distinguished tenure of eight years in the role.

Alistair brings an exceptional breadth of experience in hospitality, having worked across the industry both in the UK and abroad. A graduate of what is now West London University, he began his career with Concord Hotels and cemented his hotel experience through managerial roles, including over twenty years as a general manager. During this time, Alistair excelled in hotel openings and refurbishments, establishing himself as a leader in operational excellence.

In the mid 2000s, Alistair joined AA Hotel and Hospitality Services, where he rose to the position of commercial manager following his successful role as a hotel and restaurant inspector. Most recently, he served as head of professional development at the Institute of Hospitality, where he supported the growth and advancement of professionals.

Alistair is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, a member of the Tourism Society, and serves as Treasurer for the Midlands region committee. Additionally, he chairs UK Hospitality Heart of England committee and contributes his expertise as a member of advisory boards for Professional Assessment Limited and the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality.

Wallace Vincent MBA FIH played a pivotal role in advancing the Master Innholders educational programmes and overseeing many annual conferences and meetings.
