The Master Innholders partner with the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) for world-class mentoring

In the latest joint initiative between the IoH and the Master Innholders, hotelier professionals who are members at any level of the Institute will be able to subscribe to the IoH’s world-class mentoring programme, ‘Mentor Me’.

The IoH Mentoring programme, which was first launched in 2014 and upgraded and expanded in 2021, has been instrumental in assisting mentors and mentees achieve their career goals. As a key benefit of IoH membership, it has already helped over 350 mentoring pairs to date.

As Sam Coulstock FIH, IoH Head of Professional Development, explains: “Together with the Master Innholders we can provide hotel professionals with the essential mentoring they require. They will be able to access a wealth of experienced mentors to help enhance their own careers and assist their continuing professional development (CPD).”

The recent 'Future Skills Report' research findings, supported by the IoH, confirmed that continuing professional development or CPD must be adopted as a critical part of a hospitality business strategy. This partnership now moves both organisations closer to strengthening this message and helping the industry and its talent achieve success by improving professional standards.

Referring to the partnership Robert Richardson FIH MI said: “We are delighted to partner with the Master Innholders and assist with their ongoing professional development through our world-class mentoring platform. As a founding parent of the Master Innholders, the Institute is honoured to be working closely with the Master Innholders to help develop these incredibly talented people, now and in the future.”

As well as current and future members of the Master Innholder community, this scheme is intended to widen the opportunity for all hotel professionals who are members of the IoH at any level, to benefit from the ‘Mentor Me’ programme.

Confirming the strengthening of the IoH partnership, Chairman of the Master Innholders, Dan Rose-Bristow FIH MI said: “This demonstrates the strength of sharing a vision to improve and develop tomorrow’s talent within the hotel industry. We are delighted we have so many mentors already signed up and with the IoH framework this promises to be a successful and rewarding programme for both the mentor and mentee.”
