Applications open for Master Innholders Aspiring Leaders Diploma 2025/26

The Master Innholders have opened applications for the highly coveted Master Innholders Aspiring Leaders Diploma (MIALD), a career-boosting programme designed for hoteliers ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.

Now in its 13th year, the MIALD is a prestigious and immersive training experience that goes far beyond typical leadership training. The programme unfolds over two-day residentials at some of the UK's most iconic hotels, blending in-depth leadership modules with real-world insights.

Successful applicants will receive the internationally recognised Level 5 Award from the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), cementing their expertise and enhancing their professional credibility. Beyond the classroom, MIALD provides invaluable opportunities for networking with industry leaders and mentorship, empowering participants to thrive in the fast-paced world of hospitality leadership.

Graduates of the program enjoy enhanced career prospects and industry recognition, showcasing their commitment to excellence in hospitality leadership, along with the chance to gain a deep understanding of successfully managing hospitality operations.

Delivery of these sessions is undertaken in a residential setting at a range of exemplary venues, with iconic hotels such as, Coworth Park, Cliveden House, Southampton Harbour Hotel, Parkgate Hotel Cardiff, Rudding Park, The Headland Newquay and The Orchard Hotel Nottingham and due to host for the upcoming academic year.

Graduate of the MIALD, Oliver Harris, Hotel Manager at The Queensbury Hotel & Olive Tree Restaurant, said:

“The course opened so many doors for me personally, the qualification is widely recognised in many hospitality businesses and is regarded to be one of the most sought-after leadership programmes for hospitality leaders in their early career stages.”

James B. Clarke MI, Chair of The Master Innholders, said: “There is so much unrealised talent in hospitality that often goes unnoticed and its initiatives like the Aspiring Leaders Diploma that aim to give these people a voice and a platform so that talent can be harnessed.

The program is an incredible opportunity for both employer and employee, helping to develop young professionals and give them the confidence they need to excel and grow in their career, while also helping employers by offering promising team members the training they need to make a real difference in their hotel.”
