Jacqui Jones MIH appointed chair of IoH Cymru (Wales) Region

The Institute of Hospitality has appointed Jacqui Jones MIH, Programme Director International Travel, Tourism, Events, Festivals and Leisure Resort Management at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, as Chair of IoH Cymru (Wales) Region.

A long standing IoH committee member, Jacqui will lead the IoH Cymru Wales regional committee of volunteers to engage members across Wales, strengthen links between education and industry, and deliver a programme of CPD and networking events for local members.

Jacqui commented: “I am honoured to serve as Chair of IoH Cymru Wales and really looking forward to supporting the Institute’s members, celebrating our students and future leaders, and bringing education and industry closer together so talent can thrive, and we can showcase hospitality as a modern career of choice. I look forward to working with colleagues and partners across Wales to engage members of all ages in the months and years to come so we can champion Welsh hospitality to the world.”

Welcoming her to the role, IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI said: "Jacqui has worked with the Institute for many years and understands the needs of our members across Wales. Her energy and passion for educating students for tourism and hospitality careers in Wales has been exemplary, having previously helped form the IoH Cymru Student Committee. Her leadership will help members across the region, access meaningful CPD, mentoring and networking and encourage students and early career professionals to see hospitality as a modern career of choice."
