Master Innholders recognised at AA Hospitality Awards 2024

Hoteliers, including many members of the Master Innholders community, were recognised for their contributions to the industry at this year’s annual AA Hospitality Awards.

Taking place Monday evening at JW Marriott Grosvenor House, the event saw hotels and the hospitality professionals behind them celebrated across 15 different categories, shining a light on those individuals helping to make a real difference in the UK hospitality industry.

Previous Hotel Leadership Conference Chair and Master Innholder, Adrian Ellis MI, was presented with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his 40-year career running hotels in the UK and abroad, as well as launching the Hotels and Schools project to educate young people about hospitality.

Hotelier and sustainability expert Sue Williams MI was also awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award for her sustainability efforts at Whatley Manor and across the hotel industry.

Elsewhere, Parkgate Hotel Cardiff, led by general manager Damien Martin MIH, took home the Hotel of the Year award in the Wales category, while Red Carnation Hotel Group under the leadership of Jonathan Raggett MI and his team was awarded Group of the Year.

Smaller hotels were also recognised for their achievements on the night, with Mark E Chambers FIH MI and the rest of the team from Eden Hotel Collection taking home the Small Hotel Group of the Year award.

The evening also presented several rosettes to restaurants, including five rosettes to Woven by Adam Smith, part of Coworth Park’s offerings led by general manager Zoe Jenkins MI.

Four rosettes were also awarded to Restaurant 1890, part of The Savoy, led by general manager Franck Arnold FIH MI.
