Success for Master Innholders at Hotel Cateys 2022
The Caterer’s 2022 Hotel Cateys were revealed at a glittering ceremony at the Royal Lancaster London on Monday evening, with several Master Innholders winning awards for their dedicated contribution to the hotel industry.
Outstanding Contribution Award
Craig Bancroft FIH MI was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award for his fantastic work in the industry over the years. He has transformed the Ribble Valley hotel into a culinary wonderland since he took over in 1983, earning the establishment four red AA ratings and a Michelin star for its restaurant.
Bancroft has also earned numerous honours over the course of his illustrious career, including being selected as The Caterer's Hotelier of the Year in 2016 and winning the Wine and Spirit Ambassador Award at the 2017 Cateys.
Additionally, he founded the enormously popular Obsession, which is now in its 23rd year. The celebration of food and wine is one of Europe's top culinary events, drawing celebrity chefs from all over the world to participate and donate tens of thousands of dollars to charity each year.
Extra Mile Award
The Extra Mile Award went to Red Carnation's managing director Jonathan Raggett FIH MI, who this year completed the 21 cycling stages of the arduous 3,500 km Tour de France route one week ahead of the professional race, raising £56,000 for Cure Leukaemia.
The 2022 Hotelier of the Year
Master Innholder and Lowry Hotel General Manager Adrian Ellis FIH MI was awarded this year’s esteemed Hotelier of the Year award.
Ellis was presented with the award for his exemplary work in managing the five-AA-star Lowry hotel in Manchester, as well as using his platform to inspire young people to enter the industry. This is also alongside his numerous programs to help raise awareness of sustainability issues and promote various charity events
