The Champagne Taittinger Educational Visit Returns!

The Master Innholders are delighted to announce that this year’s Taittinger educational visit to Reims will take place on 14th and 15th October 2024.

The visit is open to senior sommeliers, restaurant managers, assistant restaurant managers and food and beverage managers working in establishments managed by Master Innholders and St Julian Scholars.  Whilst there is no age limit for applicants, the tour is intended to provide a development opportunity for more junior managers.  

The outline programme is as follows:

Day 1              Monday 14th October 2024 (train times are estimated)

09:00am         Depart London St Pancras

12:30pm         Lunch in Paris

3.30pm            TGV to Reims

5:00pm            Arrive Reims, check into Hotel de la Paix

6:00pm            Departure from the hotel, visit to the vineyard on the way to La Marquetterie

7:30pm            Dinner at Marquetterie with Jean-Pierre

9:30pm            Back to Reims - Overnight in Hotel de la Paix

 

Day 2              Tuesday 15th October

09:30am          Transfer from Hôtel de la Paix to Clostermann

10:00am          Visit to Clostermann with Jean-Pierre (and if possible a wine tasting)

11:00am          Transfer from Clostermann to St Nicaise Cellars – visit cellars

1:30pm            Lunch at Boulevard Lundy with Jean-Pierre

3:30pm            Walk back to Hotel via Cathedral – Return to Hotel, collect bags, walk to station

5:00pm            Departure from Reims in the late afternoon (train times are approximate)

Taittinger are very generous hosts and those who join the tour will find it both memorable and enlightening.  Whilst a serious educational experience, the aim is also to provide a pleasant experience while also networking with other members from within the Master Innholders community.

Please be aware that Champagne Taittinger have kindly agreed to fund Eurostar rail travel from London St Pancras to Reims and return. However, it is the individual’s responsibility to arrange their own travel to & from London St Pancras.  Further confirmed details of the itinerary will be made available for those selected to join the tour in due course.

Champagne Taittinger will review applications received and select around ten applicants to join the tour.  Please note that should an applicant not be a citizen of the UK, he/she may be required to obtain a visa before travelling to France if selected. It is the responsibility of every individual to ensure they possess the necessary documentations.

Individuals will be required to comply with any and all Government requirements at the time of travel to and from France.  Applicants must also ensure that they are in possession of adequate travel insurance cover and be in possession of a Global Health Insurance Card and/or appropriate medical insurance cover.  

 The group will be accompanied by two representatives from Champagne Taittinger throughout the visit as well as the Executive Secretary of the Master Innholders.
